A HELENSBURGH mum says her family are “over the moon” after their missing cat came home.

Melanie Higgins took to social media on Tuesday to let people know that her two-year-old cat Rosie had returned to the family’s home in Colgrain – scruffy and hungry but otherwise none the worse for her experience.

Melanie told the Advertiser: “I was on the phone to my mum at about 10am when I heard a loud meowing, so I went to the door and she just bolted inside.

“I was so relieved – we didn’t think she was coming back. She’s definitely a house cat now. She’s not getting outside again.”

The mum-of-three also thanked everyone in the town for their support and for looking out for Rosie.

“I’m absolutely over the moon with the support,” Melanie said. “I can’t believe it over a cat. I thought some people would just think it’s just a cat, but I can’t thank people enough.

“The kids are over the moon. Rosie is enjoying all the snuggles and attention. The little family is back to normal.”

Rosie, a Ragdoll cat, had been missing since Saturday, when she escaped into the front garden and her owner was worried she had been stolen because she is a pedigree cat and was not microchipped.
