A HELENSBURGH group which caters for children and young people with disabilities is facing a financial crisis after having vital funding cut. Parents and staff fear for the future of the Helensburgh charity organisation, Jigsaw after which is under threat because of the cash cut-back. Argyll and Bute Council has reduced the organisation’s £100,000 budget to £69,000. Officials say they will now miss out on lottery match funding.

Debbie Gordon, Jigsaw chairwoman, said: “If they had warned us before the start of the financial year that money might be cut we could have looked at the situation, but to be told after we had arranged our business plan, came as a shock.”
