A PLANNING application has been lodged by a firm of architects seeking to create new office accommodation at a former bank building in the centre of Helensburgh.
Nicholson McShane Architects have made the proposals for the property at 28 Colquhoun Square, formerly home to the town's branch of the Bank of Scotland.
The plans are being considered by Argyll and Bute Council’s planning department and a determination is expected by the end of September.
After its use as a bank came to an end – the town's Bank of Scotland branch is now located in a neighbouring building on Colquhoun Street – the property saw use as a nursery and, in 2014, as a local base for the 'Yes' campaign in Scotland's independence referendum.
Council planning officials approved a previous application, seeking a 'change of use' of the property from a nursery to an office, in March 2017.
