A Helensburgh pet owner has made a new appeal for help in finding her missing cat.

Susan Donnelly is mystified by the sudden disappearance of her pet, Vinny, six months ago and is clinging to hope he is still alive somewhere.

Susan, of Kirkmichael Road, first called on help from the community when Vinny, a three-year-old Bengal cat, went missing in March.

She told the Advertiser this week: "Vinny has still never been found, no positive sightings, nothing. It’s now six months since he went missing.

"I still look every day and can’t accept that he can just disappear into thin air. Someone has to know something.

"Even if it is bad news I have to know, firstly for peace of mind and secondly, I am paying insurance for a cat that isn’t at home and I will not cancel it in case he returns and requires veterinary care.

"As any pet owner will know, this has caused me so much sadness and my daily thoughts are dominated by possibilities on what has happened to him. It is exhausting."

Susan has covered all the usual methods of spreading the word of his disappearance: facebook, posters, leaflets, knocked doors, local vets, SSPCA, Bengal cat sites and Cats Protection League. The council roads and amenities teams and Network Rail also have their operatives keeping an eye out for him.

Anyone with information about Vinny is asked to contact Susan on 07970 463442.
