A MAN was arrested after allegedly giving false details of a road accident last week.
Police were made aware of a damaged car on the A82 near Inverarnan at about 2.30am on Thursday, September 6.
After further enquiries they traced the 30-year-old driver to a nearby hotel.
He allegedly provided a false report of the circumstances of the incident, causing unnecessary investigations.
He was charged with allegedly wasting police time and reportedly leaving his vehicle in a position where it caused unnecessary obstruction.
Following his arrest, the driver was held in custody to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court for the alleged offences on Friday, September 7.
