A MAN suffered lacerations to the head after he was violently assaulted in the east end of Helensburgh at the weekend.
Detectives based at Helensburgh police office have launched a probe into the incident, which took place on Friday, February 17, at around 10pm, on Buchanan Road.
Police reported a 44-year-old man was hit on the head with a blunt instrument during the attack.
He sustained lacerations to his head and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where his injury was treated with stitches.
Police are continuing with their enquiries and are keen to speak to anyone who saw any disturbance at that time.
