THE Cancer Research UK Shop in Helensburgh is appealing for the public to help them with donations.

The shop at 2A Sinclair Street is in urgent need of good quality clothing, in particular ladies' tops, knits and party dresses as well as gents' winter coats.

Staff at the shop are also asking people interested in fund-raising who could help with their Stand Up To Cancer Campaign to get in touch.

Last year the shop raised £10,257.10 for the campaign and preparations for this year's events are under way.

Alison Sturgeon from the Cancer Research UK shop said: "We were fourth highest CRUK shop in the UK last year and we want to be first this year.

"If you are planning any fundraising events this year, big or small, please let myself or Mark know.

"Whether it's a bake sale, sponsored run or dryathalon, we would love to help. Lots of awe-inspiring local people raise money for Cancer Research UK all year round, but they don't realise that they can pay their fund-raising money into our shop.

"We can provide you with a till receipt, thank you letter and a 'big cheque' presentation if need be, as well as helping you advertise your event locally.

"Thank you once again for your support - we really do appreciate it."

The shop is open 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.45am until 3.45pm on Sunday's for people to make donations or stop by and speak to staff. Alternatively staff can be reached by phoning 01436 674547.
