HELENSBURGH commuters' journeys home tonight look set to be relatively trouble-free after wind and snow disrupted travellers' plans this morning.

A yellow 'be aware' weather warning is still in force, but the effects of Storm Doris in the area appear to have subsided.

The snow gates on the A817 Garelochhead road were closed at the A814 on Thursday morning, and a fallen tree caused problems on the A82 at Duck Bay Marina, but was cleared by around 7am.

Flooding was also reported on the southbound A82 on approach to the Bowling roundabout and some roads in and around Helensburgh were not in a great condition.

Further showers are expected tonight with wintry weather on high ground. Some frost and ice is expected overnight with a minimum temperature of -2.

Commuters are advised to take care and be aware of surface water. Those travelling by train are asked to check for updates before travelling.
