A COMMUNITY Easter 'eggstravaganza' is being held by the Argyll and Bute Third Sector Interface in partnership with Alzheimer Scotland.

The event on Easter Monday is open to the whole community and suitable for all ages to attend with activities taking place throughout the day.

There will be an Easter bonnet competition, home-baking for people to enjoy, a tombola for people to try their luck, a guess the name of the rabbit and other activities to keep all ages entertained.

All money raised from the event will go towards Local Vocals and the Knitting Bee which are joint projects between Argyll and Bute TI and Alzheimer Scotland.

Alison Gildea from Argyll and Bute TSI said: "We are looking forward to an afternoon of fun activities. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in.”

Elizabeth Hamilton from Alzheimer Scotland said: "The resource centre is fast becoming a hub for the community were people living with dementia and their friends and families can socialise with others.

"I am looking forward to the Easter event as it gives us the opportunity to open the resource centre to the community. By doing so we hope to reduce the stigma associated with dementia and to showcase the dementia friendly groups we run with our partners at TSI such as Local Vocals and Knitting Bee that are open to anyone.

"I think the Easter event is a fun way to invite all our friends who have supported us and make new ones."

The day of fun will run at the Dementia Resource Centre in West Princes Street on Monday, April 17 from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.
