CHILDREN are invited along to explore Geilston Gardens in a 'Who lives at Geilston' themed Easter hunt.

This years Cadbury Easter egg hunt will lead children around the garden to places where different kinds of wildlife can be found: from toads to damselflies to buzzards.

This Easter weekend, visitors are encouraged to collect their hunt map, follow the clues, solve the puzzle and claim their chocolatey reward! Each hunt is completely different – the perfect excuse to hop along to more than one!

Visitors will have the chance to hunt for clues and solve Easter puzzles to claim the exciting Cadbury chocolate treat at the end.

As well as hunting for Easter eggs, visitors can admire all things spring at Geilston including the array of plants and animals which can be seen throughout the garden.

The earliest rhododendrons are coming into bloom in the garden as are ornamental trees such as Amelanchier and magnolias. There is also herbaceous colour from the hellebores and bugle, among others. The bluebells in the woodland are early this year, and staff are looking forward to them flowering in a few weeks.

The Daffodils, the flowering cherry trees and early flowering shrubs are all starting to appear in the garden bringing a variety of colour to the Easter egg hunt.

Planting is set to start in the kitchen garden and the flowering maze will be resown for people to admire extra colours this season.

Also featuring in the garden are games and the Hobbit Hole play area to keep the little ones entertained for a great day out with the National Trust for Scotland at Geilston Gardens.
