A LOCH Lomond hotel and restaurant has secured a second prestigious AA rosette after an interior refurbishment.

The Lodge on Loch Lomond received the accolade following a recent inspection by the Automobile Association.

An AA rosette is a mark awarded to fine restaurants by the British Automobile Association (AA) and are awarded solely by AA hotel and restaurant inspectors.

One AA rosette is awarded to restaurants serving food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients.

A second AA rosette is awarded to excellent restaurants, which aim for and achieve higher standards, better consistency and where a greater precision is apparent in the cooking.

Around 40 per cent of restaurants and hotels within the AA Restaurant Guide will have two rosettes.

Delighted to receive their second rosette were the management and staff of the Lodge on Loch Lomond.

The management were absolutely delighted with the results of the latest inspection, stating: "The food and beverage team are overjoyed at gaining a second AA rosette.

"It shows our unswerving commitment to delivering superb service and well balanced bold flavours in our food.

"It is an exciting journey working at The Lodge on Loch Lomond as we endeavour to do our best and exceed guest expectations at all times."

Awards of one and two rosettes are given to an establishment at the time of inspection.

With regards to the food at The Lodge on Loch Lomond the inspectors noted that "the food was well executed and the flavour and presentation, a delight to dine on"

The hotel also maintained its four star AA rating. The report stated: "The Lodge on Loch Lomond has a great deal to commend.

"It boasts a most idyllic location, a contemporary and stylish interior and an impressive range of facilities in the hotel and spa."

Colquhoun’s Restaurant at the Lodge on Loch Lomond has just recently launched a brand new menu as well as going through an interior refurbishment. Both the restaurant and the bar have been refurbished recently.

in January Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond, located at Cameron House Hotel, was awarded his fourth AA Rosette - an accolade givento the top restaurants in the UK where the cooking demands national recognition. The restaurants exhibit intense ambition, a passion for excellence, superb technical skills and remarkable consistency. There are very few restaurants with four AA Rosettes.

Other local establishments who have been recognised with AA rosettes include the Rosslea Hall Hotel in Rhu, which has one rosette, and Knockderry House Hotel in Cove and The Cameron Grill at Cameron House, which each have two.
