AN ELDERLY man was rescued on Saturday after he plunged 20 feet off a rocky shoreline near Loch Lomond.
The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat (LLRB) went to the aid of the man, who suffered head and chest injuries in the incident.
The LLRB team said in a statement: “The crew launched to assist an elderly male on the West Highland Way near Ardlui who had fallen about 20ft onto a rocky shoreline.
“LLRB worked with HM Coastguard, police, National Park and ambulance colleagues to transfer the male from the rescue boat to the waiting Helimed, and onwards for further treatment.”
The casualty’s wife was taken to safety by police.
