A VULNERABLE woman was attacked in broad daylight at the front door of her home in Helensburgh.
Police in the town are appealing for the help of the public in identifying the man responsible for the attack.
The 58-year-old woman was assaulted at her home in Logie Place in Kirkmichael at 12.30pm on Thursday, July 12.
The man responsible is described as being around 35 years old, and is thought to live in the local area.
The incident is understood to be linked to a previous dispute between the people involved.
Police enquiries are ongoing in a bid to identify the man; if you witnessed the incident, or can help identify the man responsible, please contact Police Scotland on 101.
Inspector Ewan Wilson at Helensburgh police office said: “The victim suffered a minor facial injury and did not require medical treatment.
“Nonetheless this woman was left badly shaken by the attack at the front door of her home.
“We are following a positive line of enquiry, but we do not believe that other people living in the area have any cause for alarm as a result of this incident.”
