VOLUNTEERS are being sought to play their part in making Doors Open Day in Helensburgh a success next month.

Argyll and Bute Council and the Helensburgh Heritage Trust are looking for people to help steward the event and provide information and assistance to visitors on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24.

Councillor Aileen Morton, leader of Argyll and Bute Council, said: “Doors Open Day has something to offer everyone and this is a great opportunity for local people to be involved in a really interesting initiative.

“We are happy to work with Helensburgh Heritage Trust and invite people from all over Scotland to visit buildings across Helensburgh and Lomond.

"Volunteers will be crucial to the successful delivery of the event and we are keen to hear from anyone who would like to support this event."

Buildings set to be part of the festival include the former St Peter's Seminary in Cardross and the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre, though more are expected to be added to the bill over the coming weeks.
