COUNCILLORS have unanimously agreed to grant planning permission for a new house overlooking Loch Long near Garelochhead.
Members of Argyll and Bute Council's planning, protective services and licensing committee agreed to approve an application by Helensburgh resident Susan Smith for a new house, along with a sewage treatment system and vehicular access, on land east of The Nest in Portincaple.
Eleven members of the public objected to Ms Smith's application, citing concerns over traffic levels, access, drainage, inappropriate scale and design, congestion adn noise during construction, the potential for 'ribbon' development, and the impact on a nearby ancient woodland.
But at a hearing at the Gibson Hall in Garelochhead, the committee unanimously agreed to grant planning permission subject to 11 conditions.
