VISITORS to Loch Lomond Shores have been thanked for donating more than £2,400 to help Scotland's veterans during the course of this summer.
Captain Brian Warren played his bagpipes at the lochside attraction throughout the summer to raise money for Erskine, the charity which cares for more than 800 veterans and their spouses across the country.
Brian, a veteran himself, having served in the Royal Army Service Corps and the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, has played the pipes for more than 50 years, and for the last two has played for the public to raise money for a cause particularly close to his heard.
Last year Brian’s efforts saw him raise £1,800, and this year he has been able to hand over a cheque for £2,406.
Morag Dorrian, Erskine community fundraiser for the west, said: “Brian and his bagpipes are becoming a familiar sight and sound at Loch Lomond Shores during the summer months and we want to thank him for his continued support.
"Thanks also to everyone who so generously made a donation.
"Fundraisers like Brian enable us to continue to care for more than 800 veterans and their spouses each year in our four care homes.”
The money raised will help Erskine provide care at its homes in Erskine, Bishopton, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
