THE Cancer Research UK shop in Helensburgh is hoping to benefit from the “new year new me” ideal by appealing for donations.

The Sinclair Street store is running low on good quality ladies' clothing, particularly ladies' tops and blouses, which are their biggest seller.

They are appealing to the public to clear out their wardrobes and donate the clothing that is no longer needed.

As well as clothing, the store is hoping for donations of unopened gifts people may have received over the festive period that could be used as raffle prizes.

Assistant manager Alison Sturgeon said: “This is the perfect time of year to clear out your wardrobes and donate good quality clothing that is no longer needed.

“We are also very grateful for any unopened gifts that could be used as raffle prizes. We raise thousands of pounds a year from our beautiful raffle hampers.

“Unopened, chocolates and perfume sets all make fantastic prizes. Smaller items can be built into a hamper.

“We would like to thank all our customers and volunteers for their continued support and we hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year!”

The shop is open from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.45am-3.45pm on Sundays.

Anyone with a query is asked to contact (01436) 674547.

Last year the Helensburgh store raised £14,829 for Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign - the most of any of the charity’s UK shops.
