Classrooms across the area played host to some of the best-loved characters as part of World Book Day celebrations.

The official date for the event event was March 1, but that coincided with the snowstorm which shut schools across Helensburgh and Lomond.

So, to avoid disappointment, several schools went ahead once the snow had gone - delighting pupils who had no hesitation in dressing up.

Meanwhile, Colgrain Primary held a variety of class activities on a book theme.
