The Helensburgh Savoy Musical Theatre Group held a very successful craft and table top sale to raise money for their show in November.

A huge selection of craft items were on sale with stall holders selling jewellery, woodwork, hand-crafted cards and handmade textiles.

Guests were also treated to the Savoy’s famous homemade soup and hot bacon rolls, alongside some homebaking.

Pauline Forrest, the secretary for the group, said: “ There was a good footfall, about 100 people or so, and all the crafters seemed to enjoy themselves.

“We raised in excess of £400 and the money will go towards our show in November because we need to buy costumes, props and pay for a venue.”

Pauline explained that it is so expensive to organise shows that the group aim to raise as much money as possible to fund their show.

Their next performance, ‘Mad About Musicals’, will take place on Friday, May 11 at 7.30pm in St Josephs Church Hall.

Tickets cost £8 each and £6 for under 18s and are available from First Class, Savoy Musical Theatre Group members or on the door.
