CHEERS! Celebrating the whisky shop's first birthday

Clyde Whiskies had good reason to celebrate on Saturday.

As well as marking their first birthday, they had their busiest day to date for visitors. The weather was good with the sun shining on all who helped them celebrate at their shop on Helensburgh's seafront.

Starting the business as they did in the middle of a global recession, Fred Flint and Duncan Reid - pictured left - have every reason to be pleased with themselves having successfully made it through their first year's trading. From their start a year ago as the Burgh's first malt specialists with just 53 malts, Clyde Whiskies have rapidly expanded and now they offer over 100 malts in the shop and over 700 available to order.

The future's looking and tasting good too. As well as the service they offer the customers that walk through their door, they've worked hard on building up the corporate work and the personalised label service they offer as part of the business. This includes supplying the Faslane Naval Base and most recently helping to mark Greenock Golf Club's Centenary celebrations.

So to Clyde Whiskies, a successful local business, - slanj!
