The Dumbarton and District MS Society has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Volunteer of the Year category in the national MS Society Awards 2014.

Sheena Rollo, of Dumbarton and District MS Society, said: “It is very important that we continue to raise awareness for MS, there are so many people out there locally who still don’t know what the local MS branch has to offer. It is great to see our local MS branch has been recognised for such a prestigious award.

“It would be fantastic to bring the award back home to the local branch, however if we don’t then just to get to this stage we are chuffed to bits.” The awards recognise the work carried out every day by people who improve the lives of those affected by MS. This year, more than 200 nominations across 10 award categories were received.

The winners will be announced at an exclusive Awards ceremony on October 6, in London.
