Willie McDonald and Alan Wright, who run Clearvue Investments, already own the 58-bed Argyle Care Centre in the town, and they have recently completed the purchase of the 35-room Lochside Care Home.

The pair now plan to update and expand Lochside to create a 60-bed, state-of-the-art nursing home, subject to planning permission.

To fund the investment, Mr McDonald and Mr Wright approached Stuart Frame, relationship director at RBS.

Together, they attracted a loan of nearly £3.5m, which enabled Clearvue to secure the jobs of 50 new staff and start planning for the future.

Mr Wright told the Advertiser: “With RBS past and present support we are steadily developing both our services towards state-of-the-art care homes that will serve the community and provide employment for years to come.

“We feel that RBS fully understands our business and shares our vision for the future. The assistance and guidance we have received from Stuart Frame, Colin McGill and the rest of the team at RBS has been exceptional. They’ve been hugely supportive of our vision to develop both homes and to create a luxury 60-bed home that will be one of the finest care homes in Scotland.” Mr Frame, from RBS, added: “We were delighted to support the investment into two care homes in Helensburgh based on the vision that Willie and Alan provided. They had a clear vision that put their residents’ customer experience at the centre of everything they do and operate from a sound financial base. We wish them well with their venture.”
