Plans have been submitted to the national park for a floating jetty, in a bid to prevent hire boats being broken in shallow water.

A supporting statement in the application states small boats’ propellers and gear boxes are being damaged when they are being grounded and returned to use.

The application for the jetty has been submitted by Can You Experience, which operates a canoe and boat hire business at the beach opposite Loch Lomond Shores.

It said the reason for damage was shallow water, and by keeping the boats further into the water damage is less likely to occur. It is proposed the jetty will be 12 metres long, and will be removed during the winter months.
