The £830,000 resurfacing works will fix existing cracks, potholes and other defects, on 3.4km of the road.

Three projects, starting from this week, will be ongoing throughout the month.

Workers will carry out overnight repairs and resurfacing from 7pm-7am, with no works on Friday or Saturday nights in a bid to minimise disruption.

Restricted speed limits will be in place during the day, although it is expected traffic management will be removed out with working hours.

Work will start at Cameron House from Sunday, July 5 until Monday, July 20, resurfacing a 1.7km stretch.

The junction to Cameron House will be closed on the nights of Sunday, July 5 and Wednesday, July 15.

Five nights of resurfacing will take place to improve a 1km section of road from the Stoneymollan Roundabout from Tuesday, July 21 to Monday, July 27.

A 700m section of the A82 at the Garelochhead Junction is to receive improvements over three nights from Tuesday, July 28 to Thursday, July 30. The works will be carried out under two way traffic lights for the safety of the workforce and motorists.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Unit representative, told the Advertiser: “The investment from Transport Scotland will allow our teams to ensure the A82 continues to provide a safe and reliable route for motorists between Glasgow and the North.

“We’ve scheduled these works to take place overnight and during the week to minimise disruption to motorists as much as possible.

“Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys ahead where possible and check Traffic Scotland for the most up to date journey information.”
