The theft has prompted a warning from the police for householders to be vigilant following the break in in Upper Colquhoun Street.

The black 4x4 was taken between 6pm on Thursday, June 25 and 7am on Friday, June 26.

Other items were also taken from the property.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “It looks like they have broken in and taken the keys.

“My advice would be for people to keep their eyes open, it’s not often we have things like this happen in this area.

“Take a look at your security and keep your belongings safe.” The spokesman also said if people wanted advice they could call Helensburgh police station on the non-emergency number 101.
