The tragic accident happened in city centre on December 22 when the out of control lorry hit Christmas shoppers in the city’s Queen Street.
Jack Sweeney, 68, who worked at the Ministry of Defence Guard Service (MGS) at RNAD Coulport, died along with his wife Lorraine, 69 and their 18-year-old granddaughter Erin McQuade, all from Dumbarton.
The Crown Office announced earlier in the year that lorry driver Harry Clarke, 58 should not be prosecuted.
He is expected to answer questions at the inquiry if called as a witness.
The inquiry at Glasgow Sheriff Court, led by Sheriff John Beckett QC, is due to last several weeks.
