A DERELICT cottage on a picturesque Loch Lomondside site has sold for almost £20,000 more than it was valued at.
The price tag for Collychippen Farm Cottage, in Glen Luss, was £40,000 - but the stone shell property went for £58,000 at auction last week.
The building - which has no roof - and its adjoining 0.570 acres of land attracted considerable interest when it was put up for sale b Glasgow-based SVA Property Auctions.
Shaun Vigers, auctioneer and SVA director, said: 'It"s a pleasing result showing positive signs. People are willing to take a punt at investing.'
It is not known if an individual or company has bought the property.
The 5mx17m building had been described as 'obviously not for the faint hearted,' but suitable for a 'Grand designs" style project' subject to obtaining the necessary consents.
