A NAVAL minehunter doing an underwater video sweep in Loch Long has discovered the body of a man.

The grim find was made by the crew of HMS Quorn in deep water in the middle of Loch Long off Ardpeaton on Friday afternoon.

Although the remains have not yet been formally identified and tests are being carried out, it is thought to be Andrew David Maconochie of Auchengower, Cove, who went missing on a canoe trip on March 19.
