THE Victoria Hall was the location for one of the biggest events of the Burgh calender, staged last weekend.

More than 300 enthusiastic folk poured into the venue, eagerly awaiting the show down that was Helensburgh's Got Talent 2009 on Saturday night.

A dozen acts battled it out for the title, and there was plenty of variety, with everything from drumming to dancing.

Each were introduced to the stage by hosts Megan Smith and Chip Charters.

And while the crowd were supportive of every act, it was left to the three judges - Darrel Hendrie, Hazel Simpson and Dave Bertin - to make the hard decision of crowning the winner.

And the act to scoop the first prize was local band, The Fix, for their rendition of The View's 'Same Jeans'.

Connor Hull led on vocals while bandmates Andrew Cunningham, Callum Judge and Allan Mundie performed on the drums and guitar.

Organised by both Choose Life and Backchat, the event was run in conjunction with suicide prevention week, which began on Monday.

After each of the acts performed, to rapturous applause, judges were asked for their comments, in a similar style to the popular tv show Britain's Got Talent.
