THE guarantee that Helensburgh's new swimming pool is "really going to happen" will be marked with an open day where residents can view the potential plans.

With the consultations with interested parties nowover and, with all potential locations investigated, the site in front of the pier head has come out on top.

Over the last two months, Gareth Hoskins Archichitects and PMR Leisure Community Sports Consultants have been consulting extensively across Helensburgh regarding the potential new swimming pool and what should be included in the new facility.

Penny Lochhead of PMR said this week; "The research has included looking at a variety of potential sites for a new pool and after much technical and public opinion having been gathered we have completed the options appraisal process with Argyll and Bute council which identified that the best site for a new community hub swimming facility is the front of the pier head.
