IN an about turn, the Helensburgh and Lomond Area Committee has emptied its grants pot and given it to the local branch of Enable.
Following an investigation into a council report which provided misleading information and which resulted in the branch being refused a grant last month, a special meeting was called and the embarrassing decision reversed.
However, following the meeting one local councillor has called for the local group to be granted a service level agreement which would allow them more financial certainty.
Councillor James Robb said: "It is not acceptable that this organisation which council officers now accept is delivering on core council services, outcomes and priorities, should have to survive year-to-year on local grants.
"I have asked officers to put in place a service level agreement with this organisation that will ensure it can plan ahead with a greater degree of financial certainty."
