WORK has started on improvements to an historic road linking Rhu and Helensburgh with Glen Fruin.
Helensburgh and District Access Trust has started work to improve a 1.1 kilometre section of the 'Highlandman's Road'.
The project, which is being financed by the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Heritage Grant Scheme, should take about three weeks to complete and will improve walking conditions along the northern section of the Highlandman's Road, where drainage is especially poor.
The contractors, the Signage and Pathways Company (Scotland) Ltd, are based in Crieff and arrived on site last Tuesday.
