THE car park at Cove Burgh Hall has undergone a complete transformation.

And on Friday the newly resurfaced and marked car park was formally handed over to the management committee.

In part the major upgrade was made possible through the support of local people at the on-going fund raising events and the great usage of the halls by local groups.

However, in addition, it also benefited from a grant from Argyll and Bute Council of £7,500 to the approximate £21,000 total cost.

Benefits of the work include enhancing the overall appearance of the hall, improving disabled access, ensuring the area is well lit and safe, and that the surface will endure over time.

Councillor Danny Kelly said: "I would like to congratulate the Burgh Hall committee on the upgrade of the car park and I am very glad that the council was able to make a grant to help make the project possible."

The management committee would like to thank Councillor Kelly for advice, MACRETE Tarmacadam Services for resurfacing, Bellshaw Building Services for laying out the car park bays, and Kilcreggan Electrical Services for lighting.

The project was overseen by Forbes Ferguson, clerk of works for Cove Burgh Hall.

And final thanks go to the residents of Braeside for their forbearance during the works.
