HELENSBURGH'S innovative lottery scheme has captured the community imagination.
Since the establishment of Our Town Lotto was announced last week a number of businesses, clubs and individuals have come forward to sell the £2 tickets and visits to the OTL website have rocketed.
And now plans are being made for a big launch event in Colquhoun Square on September 25.
It is hoped that a number of town sports groups who are among the probable beneficiaries from the local lotto will be taking part in the event and the G84 Netball Club have already promised to bring a net and balls for people to try their hand at shooting for goal.
A local mother and toddler group will be running a hook a duck stall for the kiddies and the fabulous Rangers FC Cheerleaders will be adding to the razzamataz of the day.
The local businesses who have agreed to sell tickets for the lottery are mostly in Helensburgh with only one in Rhu and one in Garelochhead.
And Colin Stewart who has developed the lottery idea with his wife Joan is hoping that others from the Peninsula, Cardross and Arrochar will come forward.
