THE area will be celebrating its THIRD Royal visit of the year next week - when Prince William comes to Faslane.
The prince will visit HMNB Clyde on Thursday to recognise the dedication of the men who ensure there is a continuous at-sea deterrent.
His visit comes just eight days after David Cameron unveiled the strategic defence review - in which Faslane emerged with a “secure future”.
Prince William of Wales, who is Commodore-in-Chief of Scotland and Submarines, will present submariners with a Royal Navy deterrent patrol pin, which is the first of its kind in the UK, to recognise the work of 500 sailors at the base.
