The Prince was at Faslane, in his role as Honorary Rear Admiral and Commodore-in-Chief Maritime Reserves.

During his visit, the Prince met with Royal Navy Clearance Divers from Northern Diving Group. The divers were undertaking a bid to break a Guinness World Record and raise cash for Sport Relief.

Between Monday, March 17 and Friday, March 21, a team of divers – clad in full operational gear – cycled a spin bike underwater attempting to set a new record for “furthest cycled underwater by a six-man team in 24 hours”. Meanwhile, His Royal Highness took the opportunity to tour various other stances around the Base, and meet with Royal Marines from the Faslane-based 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group.

They included Lieutenant Rebecca Filtness, who works with 43 Commando on a full-time Reservist contract. Becca, who is with Glasgow-based Royal Naval Reserves unit HMS Dalriada, has recently been promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and His Royal Highness congratulated her on her success.
