The organisers have selected ales for the occasion which match gold medal winners.

After the record-breaking turnout at last year’s festival, the group has increased the number of ales from 18 to 22, and ciders from four to six.

Festival food including homemade chilli, homemade chicken curry, and for the first time, a beef goulash made exclusively for the festival, by Milan from Helensburgh restaurant La Barca is also sure to impress crowds.

And keeping it local, all the beef and chicken will be provided by local butcher Kevin Walker.

There will also be baked potatoes with fillings, and a selection of rolls made to order on offer, as well as snacks, wine, and soft drinks.

There’ll also be an outdoor tented family area, with the Craigrownie Park fundraising committee providing a children’s space with lots of paper, crayons, chalks and activities, and snacks and drinks for children as well.

Buses run on the hour from Helensburgh, with return buses from Coulport also leaving hourly until 11pm.

The 13th annual event takes place at Cove Burgh Hall, Saturday, September 27, from 12 noon until 10pm (or when the ale runs out).

An entry fee of £4 (CAMRA members £3) includes a souvenir glass, and tasting notes.
