Bradley Trail, eight, beat competition from more than 80 other youngsters to win the role of Michael in the JM Barrie classic.

And younger brother Zack, seven, will join the lost boys in the production which is running from December 6 to January 11 in the iconic Glasgow venue.

Peter Pan – set in the fictional Never Land – is the first major show the boys have starred in and both are looking forward to performing in front of sell-out crowds over Christmas.

Bradley and Zack are no strangers to the stage, having performed in Helensburgh’s Victoria Halls with the theatre group Performance Theatre.

Mum Angie told the Advertiser: “I found out about the audition through social media and I told the boys about it and they immediately wanted to do the audition.

“The audition process took about three hours, they each had to say a few lines and dance and I was shocked when I found out they had both been given a part as it was the first audition they had been too – I did shed a few tears.

“Because they can’t perform every night there are two groups of lost boys and two Michaels, so the boys will perform every second night during the month-long production.

“Rehearsals start in November and the boys will have to go to Glasgow every day for rehearsals, but they are prepared for the demands alongside their school work as well.

“They have convinced all their friends to buy tickets and go and see them, and I will have to go and see them a few times as well – it’s exciting.” The panto marks 50 years of the King’s Theatre and will star Gavin Mitchell from Still Game as Captain Hook, and DJ Des Clarke as Starkie, so the Helensburgh youngsters will be able to rub shoulders with some of Scottish panto’s biggest stars.

Bradley is thrilled to have been given a speaking role as Wendy’s brother Michael.

He said: “I was really happy when I found out, I don’t think I will be too nervous on stage.

“I hope I get to learn how to fly, but I think that’s a secret.” Zack added: “When we went for the audition we did some dancing and some speaking parts and then we found out if we had got a part.

“I’m excited because Peter Pan is one of my favourite films.”
