The cash was the proceeds from the Young Enterprise Company (Ignition YES) which traded both within the school and at local trade fairs throughout the last school year.

Selling handmade chalk boards and novelty reminder trinkets, the team of 13 S6 students, lead by Kirsty Rogers managed to raise over £900 which meant that after tax and VAT they were left with £500 to donate to a worthy charity.

This was chosen recently when, following a long fight against Multiple Sclerosis, Lomond S5 pupils Fraser and Ross Leven lost their Mum, Laura.

Following the praise given by Mrs Leven’s family regarding the work and care of Strathcarron Hospice during her battle, staff and students could think of no better cause to donate the proceeds to.

Mr Jim Brown from Strathcarron visited the school on Thursday, November 20 and received the cheque from Fraser and Ross and also their Gran, Mrs Eilidh Gilmour in memory of their Mum.
