Michelle Mone has announced to her followers that she is to retire from the 'business and speaking world' in three years time.

Glasgow-born Lady Mone took to Twitter last night and posted a picture of herself soaking up the sun with the caption: "When I sold my baby Ultimo I was retiring but set up many other businesses.

"I've decided to retire from the biz&speaking world in 3 years."

One of her fans then tweeted her to say: "You won't. How do you retire from 'obsession'?"

She replied: "When you've achieved goal after goal, starting to enjoy life, have enough money in the bank, and helping young people in UK & more charity work to come."

The Lingerie tycoon and Tory peer has recently found new love with one of Britain's wealthiest entrepreneurs.

Her new man Doug Barrowman, 51, has 50 businesses, his own private jet, six homes and 15 cars.

Michelle gave up control of the Ultimo bra business, which she set up with her ex-husband, in 2015.

Lady Mone, a reality TV star as well as a Conservative peer, last year formed a new firm called MMI Global Limited with Mr Barrowman’s Isle of Man-based Knox Limited, part of his Knox Group.

Lady Mone is one of three directors of MMI Global Limited, alongside two senior figures from within the Knox empire, Luke Webster and Sandra Robertson.
