TEXAS singer Sharleen Spiteri has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

The Glasgow musician blew three discs in her back.

The 50-year-old posted a picture of herself in a hospital bed on her social media.

She wrote: “Thank you to all the doctors and nurses who have looked after me for the past few days ❤️❤️❤️ and also to everyone’s lovely messages.”

A source close to the singer revealed how the band was just about to start a Scandinavian tour, with the first one at Esbjerg rock festival in Denmark.

The source said: “Sharleen woke up at 4am and was in excruciating pain. We got in a doctor and found that she had blown three discs.”

“She had to get her up to fly her home in a private jet and straight to hospital where she’s been for four or five days. She had a small op and is seeing if she can get by without full surgery,” the insider added, reports The Scottish Sun.

Texas is on the bill to perform at Glasgow’s TRNSMT Festival on July 6 alongside Adam Lambert + Queen and The Darkness.

One well-wishing fan wrote online: “Glasgow wishes you well and a speedy recovery. Fingers crossed for TRNSMT, ‘cause Texas are my fave band. We could always get you a throne to sit on 😂😂😂 xx.”
