A MAN who died following a road crash in Paisley on Sunday evening has been named.

Brian Crossan, 33, from Blantyre, was riding his Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle northbound on Penilee Road, near to its junction with Arkleston Road, when he was involved in a collision at around 5.45pm.

The Fiat 500 car the biker crashed into was being driven southbound by a 57-year-old man.

Emergency services attended the scene, however, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car and his 59 year-old female passenger were uninjured.

The road was closed while a full investigation was carried out at the scene.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Kenneth Malaney, of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Greenock Police Office, is now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

He said: “I would also like to speak to anyone who was driving on that road around the time of the crash, and anyone with dash cam footage that may assist our investigation.

“Please contact the Divisional Road Policing Unit at Greenock Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3374 of June 10.”
