Kirsty, grew up in Helensburgh and began working for her mum, Carol Foubister, in The Pink Gallery whilst still at school.

Eight years on the pair successfully run the fashion, beauty and accessories shop on Sinclair Street. Ok so most of us haven't seen the sunshine as yet, so we are sticking to the bottle - fake tan of course! The big brands such as Fake Bake, St Tropez and Laurens Way will keep you looking nicely bronzed all year round and never fail to disappoint. A best seller out of all the products on the market is definitely a mousse lotion - people find this easy to apply, no mess and a light application. Other options available are sprays, lotions and instant wash offs. These are great for self-application, with spray tanning available in many high street salons.

New to the world of fake tan is every woman and man's dream - no sleeping with a layer of fake tan, no tan marks on your clothes and no night before planning. The "one hour" fake tan has revolutionised the way we can apply our tans. It literally means one hour after application you can wash off. Each brand will have their own one-hour miracles with our firm favourite being Montana tan - again a brand new tan to the market. Chloe Sims from The Only Way is Essex has backed this fabulous brand with no streaks and no nasty odours, a fast-drying, fast-reacting tan. For those who would like the colour a little darker, just keep the "one hour tan" on slightly longer - no more than five hours.

One thing that is of the utmost importance to keep your tan looking fresh and to help it fade naturally is to MOISTURISE! Aftercare is just as important as the preparation (EXFOLIATE). You haven't paid for a blotchy tan so make sure your skin is looking its best.

We have the sun kissed look, now we want the perfect nails. Many of us have already experienced the gel polishes taking over from the usual "file and polish". Chip resistant and shiny top coats meaning they last a lot longer, usually up to three weeks, saving us all time and money. Brands we have all heard of are Shellac CND, Gellish and Bio Sculpture. New to the market is the brand of Artistic Colour Gloss with a wide range of colours and perfect for the more artistic nail technicians. If you haven't tried this yet, you are definitely missing out. For those who are budget conscious here are some good tips for having nice looking nails.

1) Moisturise your hands daily. Each of us will always apply moisturiser to our face, so why not your hands? This will keep them soft and looking younger 2) Cuticle work - gently push your cuticles with a cuticle pusher (orange stick) to keep them looking nice and fresh - the moisturiser or cuticle oil will keep them from going dry. Apply cuticle oil daily 3) A good file each week. Don't file too hard on your nail - just use fine strokes to keep a great shape to your nail and keep looking healthy.

4) Drink plenty of water - this will stop any cracking or flaking of the nails. If this does happen angle your file so you file the actual flakes away.

5) Keep up to date with offers and special promotions with your local salons. You can always find a good deal out there.
