ARDENCAPLE Football Club celebrated another successful year at their youth teams awards night at Hermitage Academy on Friday, January 22.

Former Rangers and Scotland manager, and Ardencaple club president Walter Smith was on hand to hand out the awards to the teams who play 4, 5 and 7-a-side football during the summer football season, which runs from April until November.

Club President Walter Smith presented DFDL medals to each and every player in age groups from 2004 – 2009, as well as presenting trophies for the Players’ Player of the Year, the Coaches’ Player of the Year and the Most Improved Player of the Year, to the winners in the 2004, 2005 and 2006 age groups.

Club Chairman, Craig Holborn, commented: “It was another great night for everyone involved with Ardencaple FC.

“Our players, their families, our dedicated coaching staff all gathered together to look back on a successful season.

“Our teams all acquitted themselves extremely well in their respective leagues, our players continued with their impressive development and, importantly, they all had a lot of fun in doing so.

“We pay tribute to our coaches and all of our players’ parents for their sustained support, not to mention a big thank-you to Walter Smith for presenting the awards.

“Roll on season 2016.”

2004: Caelan Lane- Players of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year. Euan Brown- Player of the Year.

Cameron Jakeman- Most Improved. Ethan Wellwood- Players’ Player of the Year.

Ben Smith- Most Improved.

2005: Adam Outaraat- Player of the Year.

Kyle Crossan- Most Improved. Ryan Grant- Players’ Player of the Year.

2006: Lewis Sharp- Player of the Year. Jacob Shields and Calum Sharp- Players’ Player of the Year. Charles Livingston- Most Improved.
