Head coach John Wilson and his team will put youngsters through their paces with a mixture of groundstrokes, volleys and serves and working on the ABC’s of tennis movement.

Th free sessions are open to everyone, members and non-members, and equipment will be available

Wilson said “We are looking to find the best talent Helensburgh can offer. Helensburgh has already produced a world champion in Gordon Reid and there is no reason why we can’t produce another.

“There are a lot of youngsters with natural raw talent and we want to harness that talent and take it to the next level.

“The club has a great coaching programme and we can offer low cost coaching and membership packages for all ages”

Meanwhile, Helensburgh Ladies rounded off successful autumn season with a 6-0 win at Uddingston on Tuesday

First up, Karrie Walters and Ann Morison — who haven’t dropped a set throughout the five matches — were very quickly onto their game racing through the first two sets 6-1, 6-1.

But then a long comfort break by their opposition seemed to break their concentration and the third set was a much tighter affair.

The Helensburgh pair very soon found themselves 4-1 down but they were determined to maintain their unbeaten record and they managed to claw their way back and take the set to a tie-break, which they won 7-1.

Gay Black and Yolande Trewhella enjoyed many long rallies against their opposite second pair before winning in three sets. Having only lost two sets out of a possible 30 all season, they have now won their division and will be promoted to the First Division for 2017.

The men’s first team played hosted to Dowanhill and had to call on the services of head coach Wilson to deputise for Rob Dunbar.

Wilson partnered Bobby Kerr and the pair soon saw off the challenge from the Glasgow club with a 6–4, 6-1, 6–4 win.

Ali Hope and Bill Ram then took their first set 6–1, lost the second and won the third as Helensburgh won 5-1 overall.
