Helensburgh Amateur Swimming Club won a combined 27 medals from the Kingston Sprints and Ren 96 Open last weekend.

More than 30 swimmers took part in the two major galas, with new personal best times being set over 62 events, with 12 swimmers securing personal best times across all of their events.

A total of eight golds, 12 silver and seven bronzes were picked up by the Burgh swimming club.

At the Kingston Sprints, which took place at Larkhall Leisure Centre, a strong team of 19 swimmers took part.

New personal best times were set in 39 events with 17 swimmers securing a personal best in at least one event each.

Seven swimmers secured personal best times across all of their events: Joseph Aylward, Louisa Brown, Lauren Hughes, Lauren Macfarlane, Rachael Stewart, Ryan Thomson and Kirsty Trail.

The swimmers brought back a total of 17 medals from Larkhall, six golds, six silvers and five bronzes. The gold medal winners were: Ryan Thomas - three golds and one silver; Alex MacFarlane - one gold, two silvers and one bronze; William Peace - one gold, one silver and one bronze, Kirsty Trail - one gold.

In the Ren 96 Open, which took place at Linwood Sports Centre, 11 swimmers took part over the two days.

New personal best times were set in 23 events with eight swimmers securing a personal best in at least one event.

Five swimmers secured personal best times across all of their events: Gail Craig, Alex Johnson, Alexandra MacFarlane, Emily Miller and Jake Miller.

The swimmers brought back a total of 10 medals from Linwood – two golds, six silvers and two bronzes.

Caitriona Stewart secured two golds and one bronze, Kate Storey secured three silvers and one bronze and Alex Johnson secured three silver medals.
