HELENSBURGH swimmer Eve Thompson’s time at Stirling University has seen her racing to the top of the Scottish rankings.
The former Hermitage Academy pupil is in her second year studying at the university, but away from the books, her pool performances have improved during her time at Stirling’s much-heralded swimming programme which also includes Olympians Ross Murdoch, Robbie Renwick and Duncan Scott.
Eve ended the long course season at the top of the Scottish rankings in both the 100m and 50m breaststroke for her age group (18 years).
She was re-selected to the high performance squad for the upcoming season and attended her first short meet with the team at the British Universities Championship in Sheffield.
She rose to the occasion, reaching both of her individual finals and taking her part in the individual relay team that won bronze.
Stirling University came second behind Loughborough University in the points table
