Six teams of Helensburgh curlers travelled to Perth for the club’s two-day annual competition for the Stranraer Quaich.

It was colder outside than it was on the ice but there was soon some hot competition.

After the morning round the three winning teams were those of Peter Proctor, Ian McArthur and Adam Clark.

There had been some high scoring and this was repeated in the afternoon, with two of these teams going head to head, and at the end of the first day the rinks of Ian McArthur and Adam Clark were tied for first place.

After a convivial evening the competition resumed the next morning.

The two leading teams from the previous day were pitted against each other.

The rink of Ian McArthur proved the stronger and they ran out winners.

The afternoon round saw Ian maintaining his undefeated record to win the competition.
