Records tumbled for Helensburgh Amateur Swimming Club with six swimmers breaking a total of 20 club records in the last four months of 2016.
Records were smashed right through the age groups starting with one of the younger swimmers Caitriona Stewart, through to the most senior of the club’s swimmers, Jon Law.
Caitriona smashed a record set almost 20 years ago and both Alex Johnson and Jake Miller smashing records set just under 17 years ago.
Caitriona swimming in the 10-11 age group broke the 100m Backstroke record set by Lorna Drummond in 1997.
She also broke the 200m Individual Medley record set by Olivia Dougan in 2012, the 100m Freestyle record set by Gail Craig in 2011 and in the 100m Breaststroke she beat her own record
Alexander Johnson, swimming in the 14 age group broke the age 14-15 200m Individual Medley record set by Ewan Bray in 2000 and the age 12-15 400m Individual Medley record set in 2011 by Duncan Anderson.
He also took three records set by Marcus Hills in 2014, breaking the age 12-15 200m Freestyle record, the age 12-15 and Open age group 400m Freestyle records.
Jake Miller’s age 14-15 record for the 100m butterfly set earlier in the year also fell to Alex. To finish up Alex broke the age 12-15 200m Butterfly record that he had set earlier in 2016.
Just before turning 16 Jake Miller broke the 14-15 age group 100m Breaststroke record set by Craig Barrie in 2000. Shortly after his birthday he broke the age 16 and Over 100m butterfly record.
Kate Storey dominates the record table at the club and set the bar higher by breaking six records that she had set in previous years. Swimming in the age 16 and over age group Kate set new records in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke, the 100m Individual Medley, the 100m Freestyle and both age group and Open age group records in the 200m Freestyle.
Jon Law, competing in the age 16 and Over age group broke the record for the 200m Butterfly that he had set previously.
