United Glasgow 0

Helensburgh FC 2

Helensburgh FC ended the year on a winning note, beating United Glasgow.

After a disappointing result last week it was important that they bounced back and they didn’t disappoint.

The visitors came flying out the blocks and Brooks Tadlock thought he had opened the scoring when he tapped the ball in but the referee ruled him to be offside.

This unsettled Helensburgh for a few minutes and Glasgow had a couple of half chances which they failed to capitalise on.

These missed chances would cost them dear as Burgh punished them with two goals before half time.

Jeffries opening the scoring when he cut in from the left to strike the ball low into the net.

The second came from the penalty spot with Stuart Bailey dispatching the ball after Tadlock had been hauled down.

The second half was all Helensburgh but they failed to add to their tally with Cameron coming closest with two attempts that rattled the bar.
